The NCKWS was represented by several members at the 3rd Annual Carolina Coastal Pond Conference (Water Garden & Ornamental Fish Pond Trade Show & Symposium) that was held Saturday March 8 at the Lenoir County Cooperative Extension Service Office in Kinston, NC.

The conference featured several interesting speakers and presentations. Our very own water plant expert, Frank Swartz, filled an hour on water gardening. The NCKWS also arranged for Shane Boylan, a veterinarian student of Dr. Greg Lewbart's at the NCSU Vet school, to speak at the conference on koi health.

Attendees were treated to a fine North Carolina homestyle lunch that included ham, BBQ chicken, potato salad and other fixins. It was delicious.

Janae and Jim drove out to support Dan and Tim behind the NCKWS booth. Dan and Tim set up the NCKWS show/emergency tank for the first time and displayed three of Dan's koi for conference attendees. We had quite a few people stop by to chat, pick up cards and flyers and discuss upcoming NCKWS events.
